Welcome to the second annual Dunedin Craft Beer & Food Festival! The day is our way of celebrating everything that is tasty about the best city in the south, and it’s the BEST place to try the finest local food and the most diverse range of craft beer, wines, and cider from Kiwi makers and afar. From your special free commemorative cup design right through to the mix of food and brews, we’ve put a lot of thought into how we can beat last year and bring you the Original Dunedin Craft Beer & Food Festival that will have you hooked!

Bring your family, find your old friends and come along to our legendary weatherproof Forsyth Barr Stadium to try something new! We guarantee that this year’s event will have a wider range of the best local food, and the absolute best mix of breweries from start-up to megastar, from Oamaru to Oregon, we’ll have the freshest and finest craft beer Dunedin will see in 2014.

We listened to your feedback from last year, and we’ve been working hard to make sure we have the best celebration of everything delicious in a space you can enjoy with your friends and family. Space is the key, and we’re taking over more of the Forsyth Barr Stadium’s sports pitch to make more room for you to spread out and enjoy even more great stalls.

Say goodbye to tokens filling up your pants and making queues horrendous. You’ll get an easy to use electronic wristband on the day that’ll make paying and topping up quicker and easier than last year! Plus if you’re a keen bean and want to just HOP to it on the day, you can buy a preloaded wristband which you’ll be given on entry so you can flag topping up and get right to the brews and food.

Whether you’re new to craft beer or you reckon you can tell when your Captain Cooker was brewed just by the taste of the Manuka…
Whether you like your cheese rolled rather than shaved onto handmade crab and saffron ravioli…
Whether you love great food, great beers or BOTH, we have you covered!

Dunedin, we’re bigger, we’re better, and we’re back for another epic Dunedin Craft Beer & Food Festival!

Keep an eye out for updates, competitions and new additions to the lineup for the ultimate celebration of great times in Dunedin.

Kids Zone

Thanks to your feedback from last year we’re creating a kids zone so parents can enjoy their great craft beer and food while they watch the kids have a great time on the day. The area will have face painting, balloon animal making, entertainers, games and inflatable fun! Remember, kids aged 14 and under get into the festival for free, so get the family ready for a great day out with something for young and old to enjoy!

We know the kids are troopers but even the hardiest of our entertaining fairies need to get their beauty sleep so the kid’s entertainment will wind down at 5pm.

Waste Minimisation Plan

Here at the Dunedin Craft Beer & Food Festival we’ve been looking at ways to make the day not only bigger but also better by keeping it in line what we believe Dunedin people would like to see at our event.

A question that came up regularly was; how could we make this an eco-friendly event? After much research we applied for funding from The Public Place Recycling Scheme to promote the Love NZ brand and implement a waste minimisation strategy which we are proud to announce was approved with a big old TICK.

So how will this work? Upon entry all attendees will receive a reusable polycarbonate vessel to use at all drinks site and then take home as memorabilia.  No glass or cheap plastic cups will be used on the day. All food sites will strictly be using biodegradable packaging.  We will have recycling bins dotted throughout the site with simple, user friendly signage.  We’ll also have our team members stationed at each recycling centre to answer any waste questions that might arise.  After the event we’ll be ensuring all waste is distributed to the correct places.  Nice, simple and soon to be effective.

Volunteer!

Want to be a part of Dunedin’s best Craft Beer and Food festival? Well we’d love to have you on board. We have a range of roles that require time commitments from a few hours, to a whole day, during and after the event.

If you want to get involved email rachel@ousa.org.nz with a quick bit of information about yourself and what you think you could do to help!
