How to Enter

• It costs $10 per brew to enter the Black Rock Home Brew Competition
• This is a BJCP open-style competition, open to all brewing types. 
• All brews must be made on non-commercial premises, however brewers may be industry professionals. 
• Click on the link below to purchase an entry, and follow the steps in your confirmation email to complete the entry form.
  

Winning brews will be announced at THE FESTIVAL on Saturday 18 March 2023

Judging will be completed in advance. Judges TBC.

Prizes

All category winners will win a double pass to Saturday's event, more prizes tbc.

"Best in Show"

The Champion Brewer, brewer of the overall winning beer (best beer from across all categories, as chosen by our panel of judges) will get the opportunity to develop a recipe with staff from Behemoth and to then brew the official Festival Beer for next year’s Festival. Whilst all efforts will be made to replicate your winning recipe as much as possible, consideration will also be given to commercial and technical viability of the Festival Brew, and changes made to the recipe accordingly. Think of it as a co-lab with one of New Zealand's leading independent, and multi-award winning, craft beer breweries.
